Great location/Great price

First of all, my 3's for "Food and dining areas" and "Public areas (Pool, Lobby, Bar)" is because there was no place to mark "N/A" as neither applied to Galileo House. Second, for me a hotel is a place to sleep and leave my bags so I mainly look for location and price. Galileo House is right in the center of Tel Aviv no more then a half hour walk to virtually the entire city (or at least those parts worth seeing). And its location in the atmospheric Yemenite Quarter right next to Carmel Market was perfect. And at $80/nt the price was very right. I was pleasantly suprised when I checked in to be given a double for the same price as the singles were all full. The room was fine, a little cramped more due to its lay out than the actual size, but no complaints. The entire staff (I counted 5 or 6 different faces behind the desk in my 4 days there) were nice, friendly and helpful, with Guy and Anastasia being especially so. The only complaint I had was that they want you to pay in advance, either in the entirety or at least day by day. I wouldn't've minded this overall but the last day I might've liked to use any left over shekels to pay the bill. They wouldn't budge on this even tho they had my crredit card number on file. Other than that, tho, I would strongly recommend Galileo House, especially to those, like me, who plan to spend more time out'n'about than lounging around a hotel pool or bar.
