We were visiting Israel for a month and saw an ad for this fabulous boutique hotel in an Israeli newspaper; the hotel was sending best wishes (I believe) to Shimon Peres. We then looked up the hotel website as well as Trip Advisor and immediately knew we wanted to book a room for our 45th anniversary. Luckily, they had an availability. We definitely weren't disappointed; it was one of the most wonderful experiences of our many years of travel. We were welcomed by a small staff of young and very nice people who immediately made us feel at home. Our room had all the amenities you could ever want, including an espresso maker, robes, high-end snacks, and even a toothbrush and toothpaste! The room was luxurious with an amazingly comfortable bed. It also had two black leather loveseats and a large flatscreen television. The architecture was beautifully restored with modern touches. There were only about 2 other couples staying there the night we were there, so it was quiet and relaxing with great hip music playing in the background. The big treat of our stay was the chef's tasting dinner which we chose to try out for an additional cost. We sat at a very large "table" (which doubled as the chef's prep table) with one other couple while the young but extremely accomplished chef prepared a 5-7 course dinner for us right before our eyes, from scratch. The whole thing was definitely a 5-star experience and we would highly recommend the Alegra Boutique Hotel. PS It's a little hard to find, so it might be worth it to hire a cab.
