Review from Mr & Mrs Fagelman

The hotel is simply but nicely decorated in contemporary style with some items of good reasonable quality such as bed & bedding, shower fittings, synthetic wood-effect flooring (warm to feet in bedroom), curtains. Some of the joinery is of a rather cheap flimsy nature - especially apparent in reception area and I would expect would need replacing within 18 to 24 months. We had some serious problems operating the room air-conditioning. It was either faulty or was too complicated to use. None of the staff could work it either and we spent the first (chilly) night rather cold in our bedroom. If the weather had not improved and the ambient air temperature not risen we would not have been able to stay and would have had to check out. The extractor fan in the bathroom did not work despite the management calling in a maintenance contractor. The only way to clear the steam from the bathroom was to open the port-hole type window which was fine since the weather had improved but not appropriate since expensive extractor system was installed but not working. We suggested to Rivka the manageress that ladies would appreciate a box of tissues in the bathroom for cosmetics removal. This is a relatively inexpensive item that could be included in your normal room service package and would add greatly at little cost the general sense of quality hospitality and well-being to your guests. The staff including your manageress were charming and helpful in a quiet low-key way throughout our stay however on the third day of our stay our room had not been cleaned or serviced at all. The manageress offered us without hesitation sincere apologies and the use of the adjoining room for the night which was free along with bath-robes etc. ( Just a small point I don't see why bathrobes cannot be offered to 'preferred guests' as a matter of course - they are a particular favorite of mine as it happens! ) Finally breakfast food is fresh and good quality but needs just a touch more imagination to fit-in with regular travelers idea of "Israeli" breakfast - perhaps the addition of some fish e.g. tuna salad / tuna dip. Smoked fish pieces ( mackerel, salmon or smoked salmon dip/pate ) pancakes, boiled egg in addition to the scrambled egg already offered tho' I am aware of the limited space in the breakfast service area. I can recommend the croissants, bread for toast, the quality of the coffee and cafe latte from the machine and range of teas on offer. I hope this info is of assistance in your final preparations of completion of this nice little boutique hotel. If the parent French company take notice of these comments I'm sure that it will be a very successful venture in Tel Aviv and we wish them every success in this endeavour. PS As a regular visitor to Tel Aviv the city needs quite a lot more choice in QUALITY, MODERN mid-market SEA-SIDE accomodation since most of the long establshed hotels are now very old-fashioned and'tatty looking' in need of considerable renovation and modernisation which I perceive the parent companies seem unwilling to undertake despite charging standard international rates for their rooms. I WOULD APPRECIATE YOUR ACKNOWLEDGMENT THAT YOU HAVE RECEIVED THIS REVIEW AND ANY FEED-BACK YOU WOULD CARE TO PROVIDE SINCE WE WOULD LIKE TO STAY AGAIN AND RECOMMEND TO OUR LARGE CONTACT LIST OF FRIENDS< COLLEAGUES AND FAMILY.
