Beautiful Oasis

Posted by Alison

My teen daughter and I travel to Ein Gedi as part of our Bat Mitzvah mother/daughter tour. What a beautiful oasis in the desert. The staff was helpful, the rooms were clean and comfortable, the food excellent and the swimming pool was amazing. I would recommend staying at least two night to do the majority of activities in the area (climbing Masada, the Ein Gedi Spa, the hikes in the nature reserve next door). Since there are so few dining options in the area, I would recommend buying the meal plan for dinners as well as breakfast. The food is beautiful presented and there are many options. The staff is very helpful with planning any touring suggestions or reasonable special request. In the afternoon, most of the hotel guests can be found at the enormous swimming pool cooling off from the heat. In the evening, everyone seems to be sharing travel stories or listening to music in the beautiful public areas and the outside bar. My daughter met some other teens and had a great time hanging out with them while I talked with fellow travelers. Don't miss the beautiful garden tour in the kibbutz. The place is so lavishly landscaped that the dichotomy of the desert surroundings make the place feel surreal. I would say that the place is great for both families and single travelers who want a comfortable place to stay while exploring the desert area.
