Kibbutz Ein Gedi

There is no way that I can adequately express my pleasure and delight about our recent stay at the Kibbutz Ein Gedi gust house (recently renamed "country resort hotel). We stayed in two of the rooms in the new "Arugot wing" which have top-flight, hotel-grade rooms and bathrooms, and spectacular views of Nachal Arugot. The entire experience, from check-in to check-out was superb. The kibbutzniks running and working in this place obviously have pride in, and commitment to, doing a good job. And an excellent job they do breakfast and dinner were extraordinary buffets; enough interesting food for adults (superbly prepared and presented) and the requisite burgers/hotdogs/pasta for picky kids. While we were there, they arranged a (free) night tour by the light of the full moon to some spectacular wadis at the foot of Masada, and had tours available of the kibbutz, botanic gardens, and cactus garden. Everyone we encountered working there was wonderful. No exceptions. And the room rate includes daily admission for guests to the spa on the Dead Sea that the kibbutz runs a short distance away. Highly recommended for all.
