An Excellent place to stay! The atmosphere around the Kibbutz is fantastic, it is incredibly peaceful and very relaxing. The accommodation is of a high standard and the food also is excellent. I have stayed in Ein Gedi 3 times and am planning on a 4th trip in the Spring ... I would like to be there all the time to be honest!!. The people working on and around the kibbutz are both friendly and welcoming, the reservations team work hard to accommodate any needs that you might have. The whole site is impeccably clean and the botanical gardens are incredible. Access to the spa couldn't be any easier, if you don't have your own transport the little spa bus will take you down pretty much any time of the day. The spa itself, despite having the nasty sulfur smell, is also excellent, it has a lovely pool area as well as having as much dead sea mud you can get your hands on. The bathing area at the dead sea has been updated recently with new shaded area's and clever floating rafts in the water for you to hang on to if you need to. If you have a car, Jerusalem is just around an hour's drive away, if you're up for a longer car journey there is also Timna park and Eilat around 3 hours journey to the South. Just down the road from Ein Gedi you have Masada which is another incredible place to visit, always very busy though with lots of tour groups but definitely worth seeing. There are several walks in the immediate area around Ein Gedi, including Wadi David, Wadi Bokek and Wadi Arugot, these are all fairly easy walks and all offer stunning views of 'Water in the Desert.' All in all, if you are looking for a unique, quiet, relaxing little get away, Ein Gedi is the place to go, hidden in the desert you feel a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of city life and its incredible.
