Ein Gedi is a fine resort. It's very comfortable, pleasant and peaceful. The resort has a 10 or so complimentary bus trips to the nearby spa, where there is a beach on the Dead Sea, pool, mud baths, massage services and other amenities. Also, the resort offers tours. I went on the tour of the nearby Ein Gedi Nature Preserve. Our guide knew his stuff. The resort is only 10 miles or so from the famed Masada historic complex. It's easy to catch a bus to it and spend 3 or 4 hours marveling at the 2,000-year-old site. The spread put out by the resort for breakfast and dinner would have satisfied King Herod. If I have a criticism, it's that the staff rushed a bit through the basics. For example, on my first day, I thought that meals were served in the bar and bought a dinner. I then learned from the bar keep after I had bought my dinner that meals were served in a separate facility. I wish the staff person had put double emphasis on where meals were served. That's only a minor critique. All in all, the Ein Gedi resort is fabulous.
